While I was working on Standards of Sadiddy, Jeffrey Side of Argotist E-Books solicited a manuscript from me. After completing SoS, I sat down with my poems to see what I could put together for Jeffrey, and found a number of poems on mythological and occult themes, poems built by putting fictional characters of different milieus in conversation, and a number of poems I’d crafted by using various tarot cards and decks as prompts. I assembled BACKSTORIES from these poems. The title comes from the title of one of the poems, “Backstories,” and also the title of another of the poems, which is also titled “Backstories.”
BACKSTORIES was released in 2017 as an e-book for free download. Argotist E-Books has moved around a bit since then, but BACKSTORIES is currently available for download here.
